Finding the ways to fill the time
Tonight, while the search parameter was poetry, I discovered a digital, literary magazine that accepts a wide range of submissions from prose to spoken word and even apps. In fact the submission page through the whole concept of ‘guidelines’ away, stating: ” The form that the digital edition takes depends entirely on you” – giving the creative possibilities of hopeful authors a boundless level of freedom.
The magazine is called, Going Down Swinging, and it is looking for submissions for its 35th edition, open from February 2013. Publications twice yearly, with an average response time of 3 months.
The current editor’s name is Emily Hollosy and the email for submissions is info at goingdownswinging dot org dot au
While the magazine does pay for submissions, it makes it clear that the amount is small though featured authors will get a free copy of the magazine for keeps.
Unrelated to submissions, but relevant perhaps to those who enjoy aesthetics, the website is one of the prettiest I’ve seen so far doing this segment.
Good luck in your writing~
